Falkirk Youth Dance Company was established in January 2014 to give young people the opportunity to enhance and further their knowledge of Contemporary Dance, Chorography and also give them experience of working within a dance company. The company is partnership between Falkirk Community Trust who assist with the annual auditions, admin work and funding.

Falkirk Youth Dance Company successfully gained a ‘Start Up Grant’ in 2014 from YDance’s Routes programme. This was much needed funding to get the company off the ground and working within the local area.

The young people work with Artistic director Zoe Thomson weekly to create dance pieces for various events locally and nationally. We have had great opportunities to perform at various events including ‘The Queen’s Baton Relay’, Falkirk Active School Awards and YDance Destinations.
